For most new hires, starting a job feels a lot like the first day of school, they are excited and ready to make a difference in their new organization. PeopleSoft’s Onboarding allows you to make a great “first impression” with your new hire by providing a modern experience. PeopleSoft’s Onboarding solution helps ensure employees are job ready, compliant, and aware of the organization’s procedures and policies while still adding personal touches like a Welcome video from the president of the organization…
First, OnBoarding is available to customers who license PeopleSoft Human Resources (HR). PeopleSoft delivers a Day 1 Onboarding activity guide and the corresponding events which allow customers to use with minimal setup and configuration. Administrators can simply clone one of our delivered templates to start the process. Our first customer using Day 1 onboarding implemented in less than 6 weeks.

Second, PeopleSoft’s OnBoarding offers the ability to not only track tasks that need to be done by the employee, like completing the Form I-9 or entering their direct deposit information, but also to track tasks that can be assigned to the manager, or even to other groups within the organization. Utilizing delivered security, administrators configure which steps in the activity guide are to be completed by the employee, manager, or even another entity, such as IT security. This can all be setup as part of the onboarding category and defined at the template level. This allows you to have one Onboarding activity guide that shows all the steps needed to onboard a new employee.

Lastly, Onboarding doesn’t have to be a one size fits all. Utilizing templates and the template assignment engine customers can use different onboarding templates for different populations of employees. Some of the most common attributes customers use to determine template assignments are Country, Company, Full/Part Time, and/or Exempt vs Non-exempt. This has given organizations the ability to have more specialized messaging to groups of employees based on their onboarding needs.
