Here at Oracle, we are excited to bring to you the latest enhancement to our ever-growing partnership with VMware. As of late October, VMware has officially joined the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. For VMware customers, the VMware Cross-Cloud services are now available through the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. Let’s dive deeper into the components of this announcement:
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI): OCI is a comprehensive platform of public cloud services that enables customers to build and run a wide range of applications in a scalable, secure, highly available, and high-performance environment. By revolutionizing core engineering and systems designed for cloud computing, OCI enables customers to not only solve problems they have with existing clouds, but also modernize their infrastructure.

Oracle Cloud Marketplace: Oracle Cloud Marketplace is a one-stop shop for Oracle customers seeking trusted business applications and services offering unique solutions, including ones that extend Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. At its core, Oracle Cloud Marketplace is a catalog of solutions that extends the functionalities and capabilities of Oracle Cloud Services. VMware Cross-Cloud Services: VMware Cross-Cloud Services is a family of multi-cloud services that enable customers to build, run, and manage applications on OCI. This family of multi-cloud services enable customers to advance toward their digital business goals by speeding delivery of modern applications while simplifying multi-cloud operations and retaining enterprise control. VMware Cross-Cloud Services allow you to immediately access new capabilities, without the costs or added responsibilities of deploying new physical infrastructure. The following VMware Cross-Cloud services are now available immediately in the Oracle Cloud Marketplace:
- VMware Tanzu: a modular application platform for developing, operating and optimizing modern apps on multi-cloud infrastructure. Tanzu offerings currently available in the marketplace include VMware Tanzu Mission Control Self-Managed, VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid and VMware Tanzu Application Service.
- VMware Aria: a multi-cloud management portfolio that provides a set of end-to-end solutions for managing the cost, performance, configuration, and delivery of infrastructure and applications. Aria offerings currently available in the marketplace include VMware , Aria Universal Suite and VMware Aria Operations for Networks.
- VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM): an on-demand disaster recovery-as-a-service solution that protects critical data and apps while delivering cloud flexibility and economics.
Now that we’ve broken down the components of the partnership, let’s outline what this means for the customer. Customers will benefit from having the VMware Cross-Cloud Services available on the OCI Marketplace in the following ways:
- Streamlined procurement and billing: Customers can purchase VMware Cross-Cloud services directly from the OCI Marketplace, using their existing Oracle Universal Credits. This eliminates the need for separate purchasing and billing processes.
- Simplified deployment and management: VMware Cross-Cloud services are pre-configured and ready to deploy on OCI, making it easy for customers to get started. VMware also provides support for these services, so customers can get help if they need it.
- Improved agility and innovation: VMware Cross-Cloud services enable customers to build, run, and manage applications across multiple clouds, giving them the flexibility and agility, they need to innovate faster.
- Enhanced security and compliance: VMware Cross-Cloud services are designed to help customers meet their security and compliance requirements.
