Oracle Linux 9.5 with the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 7 Update 3 (UEK R7U3) has successfully completed extensive interoperability testing for IPv6 at the University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL). This achievement has earned Oracle Linux 9.5 with UEK R7U3 IPv6 Ready Gold Logo accreditation, and is now listed in the USGv6-r1 Product Registry.
Accreditations achieved
The IPv6 Ready Logo Program, initiated by the IPv6 Forum, is a conformance and interoperability testing program. Oracle Linux 9.5 with UEK R7U3 has achieved the IPv6 Ready Phase 2 (Gold) Core Logo for Host, verifying its compatibility with IPv6 environments.
Notably, Oracle Linux is the first Enterprise Linux version 9.5 host that passed IPv6-Only Functional testing v1.1 (39440). This is one of the testing suites under the current USGv6 Revision 1 (USGv6-r1) profile. USGv6 was established by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to standardize the implementation and adoption of IPv6 in the United States government. The initiative includes two parts: the development of the standards and the test suites to measure and monitor conformance to the standards. For more details, please review the USGv6 Profile Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC).
The US Government’s transition to IPv6-only networks dramatically increases the need to assure the compatibility and interoperability of IPv6 systems. USGv6 Revision 1 and IPv6 Ready Gold accreditations help provide Oracle Linux 9.5 customer with added confidence their operating environment is ready for deployment in IPv6 commercial and government environments.
