The Oracle Linux and Virtualization team is pleased to announce the release of Oracle Linux Automation Manager and Oracle Linux Automation Engine version 1.0.1. Oracle Linux Automation Manager and Engine provide a cost effective, powerful, web-based automation engine with reporting, credentialed role-based access control, work flow automation, and job scheduling framework for Oracle Linux customers that need modern provisioning, deployment, configuration management, and task automation.

Highlights of this update release:

Oracle Linux Automation Manager REST API: You can now use the REST API to programmatically interact with Oracle Linux Automation Manager servers. The API is based on AWX version 15.0.1 open-source software and all upstream features are exposed in the REST API; for more information, see Oracle Linux 8: Oracle Linux Automation Manager CLI and API Reference Guide.

Oracle Linux Automation Manager CLI: You can now install and use the Oracle Linux Automation Manager CLI to interact with Oracle Linux Automation Manager servers. The CLI is based on AWX version 15.0.1 open-source software and all upstream features are exposed in the CLI; for more information, see Oracle Linux 8: Oracle Linux Automation Manager CLI and API Reference Guide.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Ansible Collection credential type: Oracle Linux Automation Manager now includes the OCI credential type for accessing the OCI Ansible collection within an Oracle Linux Automation Engine playbook. If your Oracle Linux Automation Engine playbook uses the OCI Ansible collection, see https://docs.oracle.com/iaas/Content/API/SDKDocs/ansible.htm to find the setup instructions relating to AWX.The OCI credential type removes the need to manually create the OCI credential type as described in the Using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure with Ansible Tower and AWX blog post.

Available today, Oracle Linux Automation Manager and Engine 1.0.1, based upon the open source AWX and Ansible projects, respectively, are included with an Oracle Linux Premier Support subscription. Oracle Linux Premier Support customers already using or evaluating AWX or Ansible can run these technologies fully supported, at no additional cost, on Oracle Linux.
