Oracle is pleased to announce the availability of the Oracle Linux 10 Developer Preview release for 64-bit Intel and AMD (x86_64) and 64-bit Arm (aarch64) platforms. This release is packaged with the following kernel options:

Oracle Linux is application binary compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, helping to ensure applications run without disruption. This Oracle Linux 10 Developer Preview offers developers, independent software vendors (ISVs), and independent hardware vendors (IHVs) an opportunity to explore and prepare to take advantage of its capabilities upon the general availability of Oracle Linux 10.

Download installation images

To try out the Oracle Linux 10 Developer Preview, you can easily download the ISOs from the Developer Preview download page. The following installation images for the Oracle Linux 10 Developer Preview release are available:

  • Full ISO – Contains everything needed to boot a system and install Oracle Linux
  • UEK Boot ISO – Contains everything that is required to boot a system with UEK and start an installation
  • Boot ISO – Contains everything that is required to boot a system with the RHCK and start an installation
  • Source ISO – Contains sources for the packages included in Full ISO

Obtain content via the Oracle Linux yum server

Oracle has also made developer preview channels available for Oracle Linux 10 on the Oracle Linux yum server. Content can be accessed through the following yum repositories:

  • ol10_baseos_developer – Developer preview of Oracle Linux 10 BaseOS packages
  • ol10_appstream_developer – Developer preview of Oracle Linux 10 Application Stream packages
  • ol10_codeready_builder_developer – Developer preview of Oracle Linux 10 CodeReady Builder packages
  • ol10_developer_UEKnext – Developer preview of UEK-next for Oracle Linux

The BaseOS repository includes the core set of RPM packages, while the AppStream repository provides additional RPMs, including those for applications and developer tools. Both repositories are required and should remain enabled.

Please note that the developer preview release should be tested as a complete bundle, as shipped in the Oracle-provided installation image. When installed from the installation image, the kernel’s version included in the image is the minimum version that is supported. Downgrading kernel packages is not supported. Oracle Linux 10 Developer Preview is not intended for use in production environments. The content of the ISOs are a developer preview release and for development purposes only.
