In 1977, Ed McVaney along with Jack Thompson and Dan Gregory founded JD Edwards. Together their leadership grew the company to 5,200 employees in over 107 countries. In 2005, JD Edwards was purchased by Oracle and the JD Edwards product brand remains available today.
On June 4, 2020 Ed passed away from pancreatic cancer.
Ed worked hard every day at what he loved. His passion for excellence changed how companies worldwide run their businesses with integrated ERP solutions. And the culture of his company changed the lives of thousands of his employees.
Ed was a mindful leader, devoted to the success of others. He knew how to encourage and empower his teams to get the job done right. He was a respected leader, willing to give his all for the people he led. Ed was also a virtuous leader, known for integrity, honesty and high moral character.
Ed’s family and faith were the most important parts of his life. His passions also included fly-fishing, antique cars, golfing, and ranching.
