Starting with OIC version 24.08 (August 2024), you now have the option to provision a healthcare edition of Oracle Integration. OIC – Healthcare Edition is a complete integration and business automation solution for organizations that need to integrate business and health data using a single enterprise connectivity and automation platform.
Using OIC – Healthcare Edition, health organizations can quickly modernize applications, business processes, APIs, and data using industry standards such as HL7 and the latest advances in healthcare interoperability such as Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR). Developers and business IT teams can connect any SaaS and on-premises applications six times faster with a visual development experience, embedded best practices, and prebuilt integrations for Oracle Millennium, Epic, ServiceNow, Snowflake, Oracle ERP, Workday, Oracle HCM, and many more.

OIC – Healthcare Edition provide all the same capabilities as OIC – Enterprise Edition, plus these following new features:
Healthcare Message Editor
- Customize HL7 v2 message schemas with the built-in editor
- Start with any standard HL7 v2 message and add or remove segments, fields, repeating elements, etc.
- All standard HL7 message schemas preloaded (versions 2.3.1 through 2.9)
MLLP Adaptor
- New bidirectional (trigger and invoke) adapter supporting the TCP-based MLLP protocol
- Native transport adapter for HL7 v2 messages
Healthcare Action
- A new action in the OIC developer palette to provide the tools needed to parse, validate, and transform native HL7 messages in your OIC integration flows
FHIR Adapter (outbound)
- Consume external FHIR resources from your integration flows
- Simple wizard-driven approach guides the developer through the process of defining and invoking the remote FHIR API
- Support for create, read, update, delete, and search
Extended Data Retention
- Activity stream data retention period extended to 6 months (32 days for other editions)
