  • Cost Analysis Tool – Interactive, filterable views into your cloud spend — by service, tag, compartment, or region.
  • Cost and Usage Reports (CURs) – Raw data feeds for in-depth analysis, BI reporting, or export to Snowflake, Excel, usage2adw & Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC).
  • FOCUS Standard (FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification) – OCI now supports FOCUS to enable standardized, multi-cloud cost reporting, simplifying comparisons and cross-platform governance.

2. Optimize – Identify and act on savings opportunities. “Optimization isn’t a one-time activity, it’s continuous like a habit.” OCI helps you actively reduce waste and maximize the value of your resources through:

  • Cloud Advisor: Built-in recommendations to right-size compute, stop idle instances, and optimize block storage and databases — with estimated cost savings.
  • Budgets and Forecasts: Set thresholds on spend and proactively alert teams before overruns occur.

3. Operate – Enforce accountability and governance. “Cloud governance isn’t about control, it’s about clarity.” To maintain long-term discipline, OCI enables customers to embed governance directly into the platform using:

  • Tagging Strategy: Enforce tagging policies to track cost by environment, team, or project.
  • Budget Alerts: Automatically notify the right people when usage exceeds predefined limits.
  • Quotas: Use Quotas in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to control resource consumption.
  • Compartmentalization: Structure workloads logically to assign ownership and scope budgets cleanly.
