If you haven’t started transitioning to Redwood, now is the time to start. As of Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM Release 25C (i.e., third quarter of 2025), a majority of HCM pages will only be available in the Redwood user interface. The change affects all pages used by employees, managers, and HR professionals within the Recruiting, Global HR, Talent, Absence, Benefits, and Payroll modules. You can find the latest, most detailed adoption timeline here.
Fortunately, moving to Redwood offers many benefits, including GenAI, and it doesn’t have to be hard. The Oracle HCM Center of Excellence’s Redwood Adoption Plan is battle-tested by customers and system integration partners, and it’s available for you to download from Oracle Cloud Customer Connect. Here are some things you’ll find in the plan.
A step-by-step approach
The plan identifies six steps for Redwood adoption, provides details on specific tasks and the scope of work, and links to helpful Oracle documents and resources. Here’s a high-level preview of the stages:
- Configure environment. You’ll set up the test environment and complete all prerequisites, such as ensuring the tool for migrating page personalizations is ready for use.
- Identify pages to be moved. Here, you’ll use our template to build a list of the pages and associated profiles to be converted.
- Assess impacts. You’ll investigate how adoption impacts security, features, personalizations, and business rules—and assess the complexity associated with each area.
- Review with business owners. Redwood gives you the option to adopt new experiences and features such as GenAI. Review the impact of new pages and capabilities and decide whether to enable them.
- Finalize the plans. Here, you’ll complete the build and test plans, write test scripts, and determine a date to start the build.
- Build, test, and deploy. During this final step, you can consult resources like Oracle Cloud Customer Connect or log a support request to address any issues.
We recommend dividing the scope of work into quarterly cycles that repeat this six-step process. You’ll be able to use features as soon as they become available, iterate and learn from each cycle, and combine Redwood adoption with regular quarterly updates.
You decide how
There are many ways to structure the transition. You can enable Redwood incrementally (i.e., page-by-page or feature-by-feature). Or you can choose to implement by audience, module, or data type. Another option is to implement pages with less personalization first and then move to more complex pages once you’ve mastered the six steps. It’s also possible to follow your HR business process calendar, implementing the Goals module when employees accept performance targets and adding Performance Documents before end-of-year evaluations.
To show immediate results, you might decide to start adoption with tasks that are most frequently used. It’s your choice. You can opt into Redwood in the order that makes the most sense for your business.
Wrapping up
To make this transition as seamless as possible, we’ve gathered helpful resources in a single place. In addition to the Redwood adoption plan, you can find templates, FAQs, videos, and recorded webinars on Oracle Cloud Customer Connect. When you move to Redwood, you’re not only delivering a more engaging HR experience for employees and managers, you’re also preparing your organization for future innovations.
