We are excited to share a new and improved EBS Cloud Manager Virtual Hands-On Lab, in the form of an Lift and Shift On-Premises EBS to OCI Workshop. Those of you who tried out the first version in the form of the EBS Cloud Manager Virtual Hands-On Lab will find various enhancements have been made in this new version to reflect our recent Cloud Manager updates. And if you have never tried one of our hands-on labs, they are a great way to learn EBS Cloud Manager in a controlled environment.

The new lab leverages an Oracle Cloud Marketplace stack — a set of Terraform templates — built specifically for the purpose. This stack automates the creation and configuration of all the resources that make up a default deployment of EBS Cloud Manager for demonstrations.
Lab Contents
The lab leads you through the following workshop activities:
1. Configure EBS Cloud Manager authentication with IDCS.
2. Deploy and configure EBS Cloud Manager.
3. Provision your first EBS environment using EBS Cloud Manager.
4. Clone the EBS environment provisioned previously.
Further to this, the lab includes a demonstration of the process to lift and shift your EBS instances from on-premises to OCI. This process uses both the EBS Cloud Backup Module and newly provisioned EBS Cloud Manager.
Further Usage
The stack used in the workshop can also be used outside the lab, to deploy EBS Cloud Manager for demonstration use. This usage is described in Oracle E-Business Suite Cloud Manager Deployment for Demo and Test Purposes in the Oracle E-Business Suite Cloud Manager Guide.
