When migrating your Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments to OCI, you must ensure that you do not inadvertently change the time zone in which EBS operates (corporate time zone).

A new My Oracle Support knowledge document, Setting Oracle E-Business Suite Time Zones When Migrating to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (MOS Note 2774525.1), will help you review your on-premises time zone settings, so you can ensure they are set appropriately when you are creating your cloud resources.

Cloud Manager Support for Time Zones

As of version 20.2.1.1 (April 2021), the Oracle E-Business Suite Cloud Manager UI was enhanced to facilitate choosing the time zone for resources created during key operations such as:

  • Provisioning a new environment.
  • Provisioning an environment from a backup as part of a traditional lift and shift.
  • Creating a standby environment as part of a reduced downtime lift and shift.

If You Changed Your Time Zone When Migrating

If you changed your corporate time zone while migrating to OCI, you may encounter issues. For example, transactions logged before the migration will be in the original time zone, and those logged after the migration will be in the new time zone.

For more information and guidance, refer to Oracle E-Business Suite Customers Who Migrated to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Must Verify Time Zone Settings (MOS Note 2792184.1).
