This article summarizes the procedures we provide for you to upgrade an 12.1.0.2 or 11.2.0.4 Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) database to the latest (19.23) 19c Release Update (RU) level on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

What’s Been Revised?

The updated procedures apply to the following database services:

  • Oracle Base Database Service DB Systems
  • Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure
  • Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer

Once you have run the relevant upgrade procedure, you will be on Oracle Database 19c (19.23).

Keep Your Database Current

Once you have upgraded to Oracle Database 19c, you should aim to stay up to date by applying each quarterly database RU and corresponding EBS database consolidated patches as soon as possible. For more information, refer to Table 15 – Database Patching Procedure References by Service in Getting Started with Oracle E-Business Suite on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Doc ID 2517025.1). This will help you avoid security, functional, and performance issues for which fixes are already available.
