The October 2026 Database Release Update (DBRU), 19.33, is now certified for Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Release 12.2 on Base Database Services in US Government Cloud (OC2) and US Defense Cloud (OC3) regions.

Plan Your Database Update

Use the appropriate patching guide for your Base Database Service deployment to review the requirements and apply the update:

Retirement of Select Base Database Service SKUs

Oracle announced the retirement, effective July 31, 2026, of selected Base Database Service SKUs covering VM.Standard.x86, Enterprise Edition Extreme Performance (EE-EP), and OCPU-metered offerings. Existing deployments continue to operate with their current features and functionality, but new provisioning and contract renewals are affected. See KB921246 for affected offerings and timelines.

EBS customers should continue applying certified database updates and confirm EBS certification and EBS Cloud Manager support before selecting a replacement.

Keep Security Updates Current

Promptly applying the latest DBRU is an important part of maintaining a secure EBS environment. As artificial intelligence (AI) accelerates the discovery of software vulnerabilities, timely patching becomes increasingly urgent.

Our colleagues in Oracle Database development and Oracle Security explain the risks and recommended actions in these articles:

Check Your Technology Stack with ETCC

Include the Oracle E-Business Suite Technology Codelevel Checker (ETCC) in your regular maintenance activities. ETCC identifies database tier and application tier patches that should be applied to your EBS Release 12.2 environment, helping you keep the technology stack current.

Expanded Release Choices Announced October 14 2026

Oracle announced expanded software release update choices for Exadata Database Service and Base Database Service on October 14, 2026. For operations that support release selection, the latest available release remains the default and recommended choice. The two preceding releases can be selected through self-service acknowledgment. Earlier releases require an approved Service Request (SR), subject to release limits. Available choices depend on the service and lifecycle operation.

When planning your update, confirm that the target release meets the applicable EBS certification and procedural requirements. For release availability details, see Flexible Software Release Selection for Exadata Database and Base Database Service.
