Earlier this year, we introduced support for cloning Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Release 12.2 environments using the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Remote PDB Clone feature on Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure and Exascale Infrastructure. We are pleased to announce that the same cloning approach is now supported for Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer.

The new procedure is documented in:

  • KA1582, Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle AI Database 26ai or Oracle Database 19c on Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer

The document describes how to create a cloned Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 environment by remotely cloning a source pluggable database (PDB) into a target container database (CDB) using the OCI Console. After the database clone is complete, the procedure walks through the Oracle E-Business Suite-specific post-clone configuration tasks required to ready the cloned database and application tier for use.

The procedure supports Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 running with Oracle AI Database 26ai or Oracle Database 19c on Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer.

The new OCI Remote PDB Clone procedure complements the existing RMAN backup and restore procedures that have been available for creating copies of Oracle E-Business Suite environments on Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer. Customers can choose the supported cloning or copy method appropriate for their Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Database release combination.

All of the supported cloning and copy procedures are documented in KA1098, Getting Started with Oracle E-Business Suite on Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer.
