An Oracle Groundbreakers Podcast Extra

A few days ago Punxsutawney Phil, Pennsylvania's prognosticating rodent, predicted an early spring. Later that same day the Kansas City Chiefs lived up to the predictions and defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54. At 34 days into a new year and a new decade, the time seems right for a few more predictions.

"This is a year of reckoning. Hopefully it's good for tech." — Bob Quillin

In preparing for this podcast guest host Javed Mohammed, a community manager with the Oracle Groundbreakers team, asked interview guest Bob Quillin, Vice President of Oracle Cloud Developer Relations, to come up with ten predictions about developments in the world of Enterprise IT and software development.

  1. Big tech learns it’s hard at the top
  2. The Cloud native skills gap widens
  3. Cloud App Integration becomes critical
  4. Multi-cloud reaches the edge of the chasm
  5. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning ethics move to #1 enterprise blocker for AI/ML apps
  6. Service mesh has its Kubernetes moment
  7. Real-time architectures – stars a1ign
  8. Open Source
  9. Observability moves to front of the class
  10. Game of Enterprise Cloud Thrones

In this conversation Javed asks Bob to explain each of his predictions.
