Business challenges
Data is stored in different departments and systems, creating silos where information is isolated and not easily shared across departments. This fragmentation leads to inefficiencies and limits the ability to make informed, unified decisions. Additionally, manual data entry, legacy systems, and lack of standardization across departments, making data unreliable for analysis and decision-making.
PAI needed to strengthen its reporting capabilities and streamline business decision-making process.
Why the authority chose Oracle
Oracle provides a data-driven analytical system that supports business and organizational decision-making activities. It is an interactive software-based system intended to help decision makers compile useful information from raw data, documents, and business models to identify and solve problems and make decisions.
The platform was not only easy to deploy and manage, but also transparent to their existing applications. PAI chose Oracle products to improve the flow of information with easy-to-use prebuilt connectors, the authority decided to adopt Oracle Data Integrator to feed data from ten administrative and industrial management applications onto an Oracle Database, which serves as a data warehouse. Then the organization tapped Oracle Analytics Server to build data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics, without relying on IT staff. This decision helped empower executives to make timely decisions with consistent information.
Results
Implementing Oracle Analytics Server, Dashboards, and KPIs and combines analytics, visualizations and reporting provides everything that helped PAI make better business decisions and standardize over 120 departmental KPIs, which are shared across the executive team.
PAI deployed Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition as data integration tool which provides a solution for data integration, transformation, data quality and data processing from the heterogeneous sources into a target data warehouse.
Central Data Warehouse using Oracle Database that represents the main repository where the integrated, cleansed data is stored including all data from the different internal and external systems that is used for KPIs, reports and dashboards.
Further, as part of this project, PAI decided to upgrade to the latest release of Oracle Database, ensuring a modern and robust foundation for its critical systems.
Benefits realized
Oracle Analytics Server, Oracle Data Integrator Enterprise Edition and Oracle Database as the data warehouse provided PAI with a unified integration infrastructure that accesses, reconciles, cleanses, and prepares any data for business intelligence use:
- Enhance data-driven decision-making
- Track performance more effectively via KPIs and provide actionable insights
- Improve operational efficiency
