Private AI for Data, Anywhere
Organizations are adopting Oracle AI Database due to its ability to run their mission-critical workloads – from transaction processing to AI and analytics. AI is natively architected into Oracle AI Database and SQL, making it simpler, faster, more secure, and more trustworthy, while also enabling AI that spans all business data. This reduces architectural and data sprawl, streamlines operations, lowers TCO, and reduces maintenance.
Driven by mandates to improve operational efficiency, customers are increasingly deploying Oracle AI Database to OCI public cloud and multicloud environments. However, some organizations need to keep their data and applications at customer locations due to data residency, regulatory requirements, or low-latency connections to existing systems. An example could be AI-driven quality control at a high-volume manufacturing facility that has tightly coupled factory-floor systems.
To address cloud initiatives and data residency, Oracle offers Exadata Cloud@Customer, powering workloads with extreme scale and performance demands. However, many business-critical workloads that power smaller organizations, departments, and remote sites do not require this level of performance or scale but still need the same cloud operating model benefits for Oracle databases.
Today, we are thrilled to announce Oracle Base Database Cloud@Customer – a simple and powerful AI database hybrid cloud solution, to help these organization run mid-sized, high-performance workloads in locations of their choice. This new hybrid cloud is based on the popular Oracle Base Database Service that is available on OCI and multicloud. It runs on Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer X11, a purpose-built hybrid cloud infrastructure that delivers the full capabilities of Oracle AI Database through a simple, unified, and affordable cloud subscription model.
With Oracle Base Database Cloud@Customer, organizations can move key workloads into cloud environments by running Oracle AI Database, applications, and AI agents on a simple, unified, and affordable cloud subscription model in customer-selected locations, with the underlying infrastructure completely managed by Oracle. This helps organizations modernize their IT environments anywhere, improve operational efficiency, benefit from cloud economics, and keep data at their locations.

Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer X11
The infrastructure for this hybrid cloud is an 8U rack-mountable Oracle Engineered System with two Oracle X11 Compute servers and one shared storage shelf. The configuration includes:
- 60 usable x86 processor cores and 660 GB of usable memory per server
- Shared, direct-attached, high-performance all flash storage starting at 11.6 TB of usable capacity and expandable to 47.2 TB
- 10/25 GbE networking for client connections and backup
Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer is architected to deliver significant compute and storage resources for business-critical mid-scale workloads in a simple and affordable manner. Within each server, databases can scale up in an automated manner to enhance performance. Similarly, databases can be deployed across both servers to provide high availability for both unplanned outages and planned maintenance. As storage needs grow, storage can be added online to enhance both capacity and performance.
“Our experience with the new Oracle Base Database Cloud@Customer has been flawless. It delivered smooth provisioning and its performance exceeded our expectations. We look forward to our customers embracing this new product offering.”

Automated, reliable database service that lowers cost
Oracle Base Database Cloud@Customer supports the complete functionality of Oracle AI Database for both Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition deployments. On top of the core database functionality, it adds sophisticated automated database lifecycle management capabilities that can significantly lower administration and management costs. Customers can reduce costs further by scaling the consumption of compute resources as needed and using pay-as-you-go pricing.
Customers can run Oracle AI Database 26ai and Oracle Database 19c, providing flexibility for a wide range of Oracle AI Database deployments. The infrastructure is engineered for Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and the Base Database service automates RAC configuration and deployment, delivering out-of-the-box enterprise-class scalability and high availability, without the complexity typically associated with manually configured clustered database environments.
Automated disaster recovery with Oracle Data Guard and intelligent data protection and ransomware resilience with Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA) are delivered through cloud automation. Database Hight Availability (HA) capabilities are integrated in a manner consistent with Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) best practices. This delivers enterprise-proven resilience, zero data loss protection, and rapid recovery with minimal impact on database performance.

Using sophisticated cloud automation, Oracle Cloud Operations manages, monitors, and maintains the underlying infrastructure, lowering infrastructure maintenance costs for the customer. Customers also have access to powerful cloud automation which makes it extremely easy for them to run their database and operating system environments. The combination of online compute scaling and consumption-based pricing enables pay-per-use database economics, eliminating the need to overprovision resources and pay licensing fees on unused cores during low usage periods, as is typical with standard on-premises systems. Flexible storage capacity allows customers to right-size the infrastructure for workload and consolidation requirements, lowering the costs of database deployment and operations.
“Oracle Base Database Cloud@Customer brings cloud automation to provisioning, scaling, and ongoing management—helping us support the stringent requirements of timely, reliable postal delivery. We were especially impressed by the all-flash performance in load testing, as well as the streamlined, cost-conscious cloud service wherever we need it.”

Simple, unified hybrid cloud for data, applications, and AI
In addition to running Oracle AI Database, customers can host application virtual machines on the same Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer, reducing their infrastructure footprint and keeping applications close to the databases they access. This is particularly valuable for latency-sensitive applications and remote locations where infrastructure consolidation can help avoid the cost and complexity of installing and maintaining separate server environments.
For example, customers may want to deploy agentic AI close to an operational data source to address secure, localized business requirements. By combining application VMs on Oracle Data Infrastructure Cloud@Customer with Oracle Private AI Services Container and Oracle AI Database Private Agent Factory, customers can deploy end-to-end agentic AI workloads using private data entirely at their location, behind their firewall.
The solution includes the following advanced AI capabilities:
Oracle AI Vector Search natively integrates vector capabilities into Oracle AI Database. Vector embeddings capture the semantic meaning of data, helping customers search both structured and unstructured data and build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
Oracle AI Database Private Agent Factory enables customers to rapidly build and securely deploy data-driven AI agents and workflows. Its no-code agent builder runs in a container, simplifying AI agent development, deployment, and management.
Oracle Private AI Services Container helps customers with stringent security and data-residency requirements to run private AI models while keeping data within their firewall and isolated from third-party AI service providers. It can support compute-intensive AI tasks such as bulk vector-embedding, generation, and inference using open-weight large language models.
By placing AI applications adjacent to data in Oracle Base Database Cloud@Customer, customers can reduce infrastructure complexity, cost, and latency while supporting data-residency requirements in a cloud model.
The Oracle difference: private AI for data, anywhere
Oracle Base Database Cloud@Customer marks the latest innovation in Oracle’s powerful database cloud portfolio. It brings unique private AI capabilities to customer locations, with these key benefits:
- A simple, unified hybrid cloud for data, applications, and AI agents that can be deployed on the same infrastructure at customer locations
- Engineered for Oracle AI Database with built-in lifecycle management automation, high availability, security best practices, and Oracle-managed infrastructure
- Affordable infrastructure with automation and pay-per-use database licensing that reduces capital, administration, downtime, and maintenance costs
Compared with alternative ways of assembling data, applications, AI infrastructure across disparate systems, Oracle Base Database Cloud@Customer helps reduce infrastructure sprawl, operational complexity, and costs by enabling a simple and powerful AI database hybrid cloud, with database and infrastructure engineered together.
