Let’s define some common use cases to deploy ZConverter for your business. Let’s say you are managing your applications on-premises with VMware and are looking to keep a backup copy stored somewhere that is highly durable and fault tolerant.
You can use ZConverter agent on Oracle Cloud and create a VPN connection to your on-premises network to Oracle’s Virtual Cloud Network and securely copy your backups to our highly durable object storage. From here, in the event you need the backup, you can use our S3 compatible APIs to retrieve your backup at any time. Use this backup to recover back to your own On-Premises environments or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
In this scenario, you can schedule and create a Disaster Recovery drill that will initiate in the event your on-premises environment is compromised. You can stand up your environment in disaster recovery scenario with a cloud vendor that can host the infrastructure.
You can use the ZConverter agent on Oracle Cloud and create a VPN connection to your on-premises network to Oracle’s Virtual Cloud Network. From here, ZConverter will create a scheduled backup of your source VM. When you are ready for the disaster recovery, the target VM is provisioned and recovered to a desired point in time backup.
On-premises to Cloud migrations can be very complex and require a significant amount of manual work to migrate. In this scenario you can use ZConverter built-in features to take your backups and use them as artifacts to migrate your entire environment to a cloud-based deployment.
Use the backups you stored through ZConverter and whenever you are ready to move, deploy up your entire infrastructure on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The Oracle Cloud team and ZConverter team will work with you to plan and validate a complete and successful migration to a cloud model whenever you are ready. Use this backup to recover back to your own On-Premises environments or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
