When we launched Oracle Database@Google Cloud in September 2024, it marked the start of something new- two industry leaders coming together to give customers the best of Oracle’s Database technology—Oracle Exadata Database Service and Oracle Autonomous Database—running on OCI and deployed in Google Cloud data centers.
Fast forward to today, and we’re excited to share big updates: new services and new regions that expand choice and opportunity for customers everywhere.
New Service: Base Database Service for Oracle Database@Google Cloud
We’re thrilled to announce the general availability of Oracle Base Database Service as part of Oracle Database@Google Cloud.

Oracle Base Database Service offers customers the simplicity of a managed service, low-cost ECPU-based billing for flexible OCI managed VM-based resources, block storage, along with the choice of Oracle Database 19c and 23ai.
With the addition of Oracle Base Database Service, on-premises Oracle Database customers have an easy and fully supported option to migrate their applications to Google Cloud.
This new service can deliver:
- Simplified experience: Fast setup, straightforward management, and seamless integration with Google Cloud.
- Consistent compute: x86 shapes that are hardware generation agnostic for future-ready operations with fewer migration headaches.
- Multicloud flexibility: Resource and networking features designed to make hybrid and multicloud deployments easier than ever.
- Transparent flexible pricing: ECPU-based billing makes it easy to optimize cost and performance.
With Base Database Service now live, customers have even more options to run Oracle workloads natively in Google Cloud—backed by enterprise-grade infrastructure.
