How OCI Full Stack DR is different
In a traditional disaster recovery switchover and switchback process, you identify the application dependencies and define the disaster recovery workflow with a detailed sequence of steps to be performed in primary and standby.
Instead, using OCI Full Stack DR provides a single pane of glass monitoring and management capability for all disaster recovery needs. Full stack disaster recovery easily integrates Oracle platforms and non-Oracle applications and provides recovery for the entire application stack, instead of recovery of individual components, such as databases or Compute instances. Our solution showcases disaster recovery for Compute instances using crossregion replication of block volumes, boot volumes, and volume groups to other regions.
Use Full Stack DR to move VM's between regions
This solution uses Full Stack Disaster Recovery to group the dependent components (instances and volumes) of the application and create automated disaster recovery plans for planned (switchover) and unplanned (failover) scenarious.
