I’ve just returned from Oracle AI World in Las Vegas, where I spoke with hundreds of partners and customers and got their feedback on the latest Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) announcements and learned how they’re using Oracle AI Database in multicloud deployments with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and OCI. (Side note that if you’re interested in learning more from me and my team about Oracle AI World multicloud announcements, I am hosting an AI World wrap-up webinar on Thursday, October 23 at 9AM PT).

I’m genuinely impressed by how quickly Oracle customers are modernizing their workloads and moving their databases to the cloud. Many customers told me they’ve been on digital transformation journeys for years, and their mission-critical databases are the last major pieces to migrate. A central theme of AI World was “AI Changes Everything,” and customers validated to me that they’re moving data to the cloud now because of AI use cases.
Another theme at AI World was “Choice is Important.” Customers consistently tell me they use multiple cloud service providers (CSPs) for different workloads and want their data available across those clouds. Oracle’s commitment to choice and flexibility empowers customers to choose the services they need across multiple cloud providers and seamlessly use their data across clouds, unlocking new possibilities and innovation.
This momentum is backed by investment. Oracle and our hyperscaler partners are expanding regional coverage at a pace where we will soon have several hundred live and planned regions, including: Oracle Database@Azure is live in 28 regions with five more planned; Oracle Database@Google Cloud is live in 8 regions with 9 planned; Oracle Database@AWS is live in 2 regions with plans for 20 more; and OCI has 75+ live and 14+ planned.
Oracle and our hyperscaler partners are also working to make Oracle database services fully featured and seamless in each cloud. In the last year, we’ve made Oracle Database@AWS generally available and expanded Oracle Database@Google Cloud with new GA services, while entering our third year working with Microsoft on Oracle Database@Azure.
For a full view of regions and services, see Oracle’s page tracking multicloud capabilities.
I’m also excited that Oracle is simplifying how customers purchase and use Oracle database services across multiple cloud platforms. Oracle introduced Multicloud Universal Credits, a new licensing option that will enable customers to procure Oracle AI Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services more quickly and easily in the cloud of their choice. In addition, Oracle and our hyperscaler partners now provide reseller options, enabling customers to purchase Oracle Database@Azure, Oracle Database@Google Cloud, and Oracle Database@AWS via private offers in each cloud’s marketplace. Customers can use existing marketplace budgets to consume Oracle database services and work with trusted partners. Learn more here from the AI World Press Release.
Below is a summary of the key updates to services, regions, and programs by Oracle and its hyperscaler partners. If you want to learn more, reach out to your cloud service provider of choice or Oracle representative. I’d love to hear how adopting your Oracle databases in a cloud of your choice is helping you discover new insights, improve customer service, streamline operations, and more.
