There’s excitement in Canberra and beyond, and for good reason.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) has completed an independent third-party assessment for Information Security Registered Assessor Program (IRAP) at the PROTECTED classification. So, the Australian public sector has many new cloud options at its disposal.

Created by the Australian Cyber Security Center (ACSC), IRAP is Australia’s most stringent compliance framework for cloud service providers. With IRAP, the ACSC furthers its goal of improving the cyber resilience of the Australian community and helping make Australia the most secure place to connect online.

What this OCI IRAP assessment at PROTECTED means for OCI customers

With this new assessment, OCI customers can now use 37 IRAP-assessed cloud services in the Sydney and Melbourne data cloud regions. Services like Oracle Cloud VMware Solution can now be used by the following groups:

  • Australian federal, state, and local government agencies looking to use cloud services

  • Individuals from the private and public sectors looking to provide cyber security assessment services to Australian government agencies
