We’re excited to announce the latest release of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Fleet Application Management (FAM) — delivering powerful new capabilities that make it even easier to discover, patch, govern, and monitor your enterprise application fleets at scale.

This release introduces PeopleSoft support, new dashboards and reports and Runbook Import/Export (Deep Cloning), continuing our mission to help customers simplify operations and improve security posture across large cloud environments.

PeopleSoft Support in Fleet Application Management

With this release, FAM now supports Oracle PeopleSoft product stacks — enabling customers to automatically discover, assess patch compliance, and apply patches to PeopleSoft components, just like they do for other Oracle technology stacks.

Key highlights:

  • PeopleSoft is now available as an Oracle-defined product stack, supporting:
    • Oracle WebLogic Server
    • Oracle Java
    • Oracle Tuxedo
  • Out-of-the-box Discovery Runbooks are provided for each component.
  • A Patching Runbook is available for the entire PeopleSoft stack, orchestrating the patching of its underlying components.
  • Fleet creation for PeopleSoft automatically identifies the deployed components and their patch compliance status.
  • Users can trigger remediation directly from the Fleet page via the “Fix now” button or schedule it for a later time.
  • Post-patching, FAM recalculates compliance automatically, so that you have a real-time view of patch status across your fleet.

New Dashboards and Reports for Better Visibility

FAM now includes a completely redesigned reporting experience, providing more granular insights into the health and patching activities across your environment.

The new reports section includes:

  • Patch Applied Status – Track patching progress and outcomes over time, including submissions, in-progress tasks, successes, failures, and timeouts.
  • Patch Compliance Status – Monitor the compliance posture of your fleets, identifying non-compliant and warning states at a glance.
  • Runbook Execution Status – Analyze execution trends across runbooks, including detailed status breakdowns.
  • Runbook Performance – Measure runbook execution times to optimize operational efficiency and detect anomalies.

These reports include export capabilities for external analysis and support drill-down views to quickly investigate issues.

Runbook Import/Export (Deep Cloning)

Managing complex automation workflows is now simpler than ever with Runbook Import/Export.
You can export runbooks (including all associated metadata, tasks, and configurations) to a portable file.
These exported runbooks can be imported into other compartments or environments, enabling deep cloning for rapid replication of best practices.
This capability is particularly useful for customers managing multi-region or multi-tenancy, helping ensure consistent automation across the organization.
