Back in February 2018, we announced that we’d be expanding our global cloud infrastructure footprint by launching 12 new regions around the world. In making a decision on where to put a data center, we prioritize customers’ needs: Where are they doing business so we can best deliver Oracle Cloud services? Looking at that announcement, you’d see that one our biggest areas of investment is in Asia.
That is why I am so excited that Oracle OpenWorld Asia, the final stop on the global OpenWorld road show, begins next week in Singapore (26-27 March). This will be a great opportunity for our customers, partners, and prospects in Asia to hear directly from Oracle executives and product leaders. The robust agenda is an excellent mix of keynotes, sessions, demos, and networking opportunities.
The show is already sold out, which is a testament to the level of interest and excitement around this event. If you were unable to get a ticket, never fear: We will be live streaming the keynotes on Twitter. For those of you fortunate enough to be in attendance, there are five Oracle Cloud Infrastructure sessions I’d like to highlight.
Your Cloud Transformation Roadmap
In this solution keynote, Kash Iftikhar, Vice President of Product and Strategy, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and Mohammad Islam, Group Chief Information Officer, Partex Star Group, share the latest cloud infrastructure solutions and services that are enabling customers to move, build, and run their most critical applications. No matter what your starting point is, Infrastructure is a great foundation for your cloud transformation.
Core to Edge Security: Layers of Defense
It seems like we read about a new data breach or security-related outage on an almost daily basis. As more of our customer, partner, and employee interactions happen over internet-connected, digital channels, and the threat landscape becomes more complex and varied, the imperative for security has compounded.
That’s why Oracle took a different approach to security for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, one that extends from the core infrastructure to the user edge. In this session, we will unpack our core-to-edge security strategy, detailing components that protect you and your organization from a variety of external and internal threats, incorporating common management of events, alerts and orchestration of mitigations. Eran Feigenbaum, Chief Security Officer, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, delivers a can’t-miss session.
Application Migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
In this interactive session, Oracle’s Leo Alvarado will discuss various options, methods, and best practices to migrate your workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure from your data center, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic, Amazon Web Services, or other cloud platforms. He’ll dive deep into migration methodology selection based on the source environment, applications to migrate, amount of data, and downtime sensitivity.
Introducing DevOps and Cloud Native Solutions
Most companies, whether startups or enterprises, have embraced the DevOps culture. In this session, Cameron Sense, Product Manager at Oracle, shows how Oracle Cloud Infrastructure provides DevOps practitioners with the services required to automate the deployment of large, complex distributed systems while giving engineers the flexibility to choose the languages and tools of their preference.
