Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is pleased to announce that it has achieved the Certified-Strategic level under the Australian Government’s Hosting Certification Framework (HCF).

The HCF offers guidance to Australian public sector customers enabling them to identify and source hosting services that have met the cloud service offering requirements. The HCF certification is intended to provide assurance that cloud service providers offer secure hosting services that maybe suitable for Australian public sector customers and government agencies. Public sector customers in Australia can take advantage of the scalability, performance, and cost savings that OCI offers.

This certification follows OCI’s completion of the independent third-party assessment for Information Security Registered Assessor Program (IRAP) at the Protected classification, showcasing OCI’s commitment to the Australian public sector to help protect critical citizen data.

Why Australian customers choose OCI

OCI is designed to help protect customer applications and workloads with a security-first approach across compute, network, and storage down to the hardware. It delivers built-in tenant isolation, least privilege access, and more security protections at no extra cost.

Customers like Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI) in Westmead are among many in Australia that are already driving innovation with OCI. When it was time to change the way that it historically managed data pipelines, CMRI selected OCI. The institute was looking to optimize processes, improve performance, facilitate seamless collaboration, and make the most out of their data. OCI is highly flexible, scalable, and cost-effective, so the research institute partnered with Oracle to address its immediate challenges in making research data shareable, customizable, and reusable for researchers, data scientists, and operations teams.

Supporting customers’ compliance requirements

We’re deeply committed to making our customers successful in the cloud and continue to invest in features and services to help address customers’ security and compliance needs. With two Oracle Cloud data regions in Australia, OCI offers the availability, security, and compliance critical to public sector applications and workloads in a cloud environment.

The HCF certification is one of many ways that we provide assurance to our public sector customers. To learn more about our other compliance programs, see Oracle Cloud Compliance. If you have questions on using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, contact one of our representatives for more information.
