Deploy Sovereign Cloud at the edge – for all your workloads, including AI/ML
Oracle’s Edge Cloud portfolio provides infrastructure deployed in your secure datacenter to address data residency, security and low latency requirements while enabling OCI core IaaS services. Each option is designed to meet the operational and workload requirements of your use case – in either connected or disconnected mode. Oracle offers rack scale solutions for edge deployments:
- Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer (C3): A fully managed, rack-scale distributed cloud platform that brings Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) compute, storage, and networking services to your data center, while connected to an OCI region, and lets you pay using Oracle Universal Credits (OpEx). Oracle sets up the system in your data center, connects it to your OCI tenancy, and manages the infrastructure for you. Access to Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer is centrally managed from the parent OCI tenancy by Oracle.
- Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer Isolated (C3I): An Air-gapped, secured & sovereign rack-scale cloud infrastructure solution for classified and mission critical workloads that allows you to operate in disconnected mode from OCI. These devices are priced per day and let you pay using Oracle Universal Credits (OpEx). C3I systems can be managed by customers, partners or Oracle CSS via managed services.
Run your workloads on the latest Generation AMD processors
Introducing the latest generation Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer X11 platform with 5th Gen AMD EPYC™ processors for compute nodes and Oracle ZFS Storage ZS11-2 based controllers. As per OCI performance benchmarking, compared to OCI compute shape E5, E6 delivers up to 50% price-performance improvement for compute instances. Start with a configuration that fits your current workload and expand incrementally when the need for compute power and storage capacity increases. Networking at high speed and bandwidth is built-in for all configurations. The minimum base rack deployment of Oracle Compute Cloud@Customer contains 3 compute nodes (552 cores). By adding more compute nodes, the capacity of 552 cores and 6.7 TB memory can be expanded to a maximum of 1656 cores and 20.1 TB of memory in a single rack and up to 6,072 cores and 20.1 TB in a multi-rack configuration. Storage capacity can be scaled independently of compute resources. The Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance installed in the base rack provides block, file, and object storage to support all types of workloads.

Customer Challenges
Public cloud adoption has become mainstream as enterprises and governments take advantage of managed services, cloud economics, scale, security, and agility. In contrast, defense, government, and intelligence communities typically run classified workloads and proprietary data on-premises, due to data sovereignty and security requirements. Yet, these agencies require the innovation, security, and computing scale of a dedicated full-featured cloud platform. C3I provides the best of both worlds: The simplicity, scalability, and economics of the cloud – secured in your own datacenter; providing high performance and addressing compliance and sovereignty needs.
