Raising our standards in the UAE
In November 2021, we launched the Oracle Cloud Abu Dhabi region to provide customers with a second Oracle Cloud region in the UAE, strengthening business continuity and disaster recovery options within the country.
We recently shared some updates on how Oracle supports regulated customers in the United Arab Emirates move applications to the cloud. In the post, we discussed how we’ve completed UAE-specific third-party assessments, such as Information Assurance Regulation (IAR) and Abu Dhabi Information Security Standard (ADISS).
To further accelerate cloud adoption in the UAE, Oracle is pleased to announce that we’ve added another new certification to the list with the successful completion of the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) cloud service provider (CSP) Security Standard audit.
DESC produced the CSP Security Standard, which sets out requirements and guidance for cloud service providers and organizations using any cloud services. DESC CSP Security Standard provides a framework for managing cyber risks and supporting government entities based on international standards such as ISO 27001 and the Cloud Security Alliance Cloud Security Controls Matrix.
Oracle’s DESC CSP Security Standard certification provides assurance to public sector customers in the UAE as they advance digital transformation strategies with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Compliance with the DESC security standard is mandatory for all cloud service providers wanting to offer cloud services to Dubai government and semi-government entities.

OCI’s DESC CSP Security Standard certification represents our ongoing commitment to our customers’ successful innovation in the cloud. Customers can view and download compliance documents like DESC from the Oracle Cloud Console.
