If you’re a user of Oracle Analytics Cloud, you might have seen an exciting new look when you logged in. We’re pleased to share that Oracle Analytics Cloud includes components of Redwood – Oracle’s new user experience design language.

Oracle Analytics will use Redwood as the default experience starting in January 2022, so we’re offering it now as a preview. This way, you can test your updated reports and visualizations in our new design system. We think that you’re going to love it, but you can always customize the style, look, and feel for what works best for your business. All Oracle Analytics Cloud customers can access Redwood now. Authors can preview it for their own sessions, and Administrators can switch the entire instance to Redwood if they’d like. If you’re an Oracle Analytics Server customer, you can see a Redwood preview in Oracle Analytics Desktop. With Redwood, the default theme for your reports will make data driven insights that much easier to read thanks to better handling of white space, a softer color pallete, and new fonts.

Our purpose with Redwood is to bring state-of-the-art, consumer-grade user experiences to business applications and to make those experiences available across any device. It’s truly a collective reinvention of how Oracle users interact with technology and consume information.

Redwood has been meticulously crafted to improve all your interactions. When it comes to Oracle Analytics specifically, all the features and functionality that you rely on to create beautiful reports and visualizations are available. And starting today, we’ve designed them with a more accessible, extensible, and what we hope you’ll think is a beautifully sophisticated Redwood design system.

In designing Redwood, we began with the premise that there’s no reason that the experience of using technology in a workplace can’t be as intuitive, polished, and delightful as the state-of- the-art experiences that we have in our personal lives on our phones, tablets, and laptops. It’s past time to expect those same great experiences (and more) from the tools that we use at work. The bar is high to be consumer-grade, and Oracle Analytics with Redwood is designed to exceed that bar.

Below is a sample dashboard in the current classic theme and what the same dashboard looks like in our Redwood classic theme. Remember, you can preview Redwood to see what your reports and visualizations look like using the new design system.
