For the fourth year in a row, Oracle has been named a Visionary in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and BI (ABI) Platforms.
Gartner assesses vendors and talks about their strengths in the research. The vendors covered are recognized based on their vision and execution, including factors like Sales Execution/Pricing, Marketing Execution, Marketing Strategy, Sales Strategy etc.
In our opinion, it is noteworthy that for Oracle Analytics the strengths highlight functional capabilities. This may reflect the fact that Oracle Analytics is now one of the most complete and compelling analytics & BI (ABI) platforms available. For the last few years, the ABI market has been prone to brand tribalism, fanboy/girl behaviour and ‘if it comes with Office’ sourcing, but when it comes down to it, none of that matters. What people really need is an ABI platform that helps them do their job and make better decisions with data. In the end, product capability is what matters.
We innovated in 2022, as we’ve done since launching Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) in 2016.
- We focused on unstructured data processing using cognitive AI models and created supporting visual experiences to help understand model outcomes, all built directly into the flow of data prep.
- We added Auto ML to allow business analysts to achieve better predictive models at a lower effort and in less time. With OAC all an analyst needs to do is select the method and the target column to execute a machine learning process.
- We released a new Semantic Modeler, to further strengthen governance, query federation and foster collaboration across assets created by self-service users and those stewarding enterprise-curated content.
We believe these plus the rest of the innovations and improvements made help to explain Oracle’s placement as a Visionary in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms.
