After several years in the market, Oracle Analytics has established itself as a leader in innovation and reinvention, transforming the way users interact with their data. In line with this vision, our mobile team has worked hard to bring this new data experience right to the palm of your hand.

In this article, we’ll walk you through key features that answer common questions, such as how to log in, how to interact with data, and what else you can achieve with Oracle Analytics on your phone.

To download the application (app), search for Oracle Analytics in the Play Store or App Store, depending on your device. Alternatively, you can scan the corresponding QR code for your operating system.

2. Ask everything

Ask enables you to generate visualizations from available datasets without needing to be in a workbook. For example, entering “Sales by Product Category and Product Subcategory” suggests three visualization options, allowing you to choose the one that works best for you. You can then add the selected visualization to a watchlist or save it as an image.

3. Listen to your data using Podcast

Podcast allows you to listen to data insights in a narrative format. By selecting a workbook and choosing “Listen to Podcast”, the application generates an audio summary with multiple tracks, each describing and interpreting different visualizations. You can navigate through tracks—skipping forward or going back—just like you would with a music streaming service.

4. Themes for your content

When configuring Themes in the Oracle Analytics Desktop browser experience, you can personalize workbook and visualization styles to match your preferences. You can change styles, from fonts and colors, to the layout designs that are displayed on mobile devices. You can apply themes across multiple workbooks, ensuring a consistent look, even on mobile. Themes can also be shared with others. Customization options include fonts, legend colors, backgrounds, and borders.

Future improvements include supporting shadows and other styling elements currently available in data visualizations.

5. A Home shaped by you

5.1 Custom Groups

Custom groups allow you to configure groups to dynamically organize content on your Oracle Analytics Home page. You can create custom groups while on a desktop and view the same groups directly from your mobile device. These custom groups are listed using the exact same organization and style seen from a desktop browser.

5.2 Watchlist

Stay focused on what matters most. Watchlist allows you to highlight and display a curated set of related charts or visualizations on your personal page, classifying them with custom names for better organization. The visualizations that make up a watchlist can be added from a workbook or even using our Ask feature.

5.3 Widgets

Widgets allow Android users to add any workbook directly to their home screen for instant, efficient access.

The available widgets you can add to your home screen include podcasts, lists, and specific workbooks.

6. Responsive Layout & Breakpoint support

Breakpoint functionality helps optimize design for multiple devices by giving you control of the behavior, layout, and organization of your dashboards based on screen dimensions. You can preset different breakpoints, allowing you to rearrange, show, or hide elements to ensure the best display, especially for users accessing dashboards on mobile devices.

Here are some examples of the same dashboard on different screen dimensions:

Dashboard on a regular computer (≥769px)
Dashboard on a regular computer (>769px)
Dashboard on an iPad (451px - 768px)
Dashboard on an iPad (451px – 768px)
Dashboard on a mobile phone (≤ 450)
Dashboard on a phone device (<450)

You can choose to switch between different experience modes: Stack (stacks all visualizations, displaying one per line), Mobile Workbook (automatically adjusts the layout for optimal display based on screen size), and Desktop Mode (organizes the dashboard according to the largest breakpoint).

You can also choose to open the dashboard with different responsive breakpoints on your device, such as an iPad view, by selecting the desired breakpoint size.
