At Cloud World Oracle announced the release of the Redwood design system to our customers, and now we add a special application template to Visual Builder that gets you started quickly. When you create a new application you can pick up the new "Redwood Starter Application" template, and we'll setup your application with all the Redwood templates, patterns, and components ready to be used in your visual editor.

You can then start to implement Redwood user experience for your application quite easily as shown in the video below.

You can pick up ideas for page design by looking at our redwood.oracle.com site, the Redwood reference app, and other Oracle products, and then implement those in your application. For example, for the demonstration below, we looked at the Redwood Reference App default start page:

And at the connections application from Oracle HCM:

Based on those designs, we wanted to create our little employee directory application:

Custom Redwood App

Here is the step by step development process we took (Video is updated using versino 2310 of Visual Builder and the app template):

We leveraged page templates, page template patterns, and composite components, along with regular Oracle JET components to quickly create an appealing user experience. We look forward to seeing your Redwood implementations too.
