A new feature for Visual Builder applications in version 2407 enables the creation of applications with a dark theme. The dark theme uses dark background and bright foreground colors which studies suggest ease the strain on users eyes and also saves energy.
You can turn on dark mode for newly created application at the application setting tab. Note that you can easily switch the app between dark and light modes for the same app. In addition, you can set the app to let the user select their preferred theme, and even have the app theme derived from the settings of the operating system it is running on.
In the demo below we show how easy it is to turn your application into dark mode.
In the second part of the video we show how to modify the default theme settings for the dark mode using an override css where you leverage Oracle JET CSS variables to control aspects such as size, coloring, fonts and more.
