With over 1,000 sessions delivering practical and inspiring content for every business, role, and industry, Oracle CloudWorld 2023 was packed with new product information and innovation. So what were the highlights from this year’s event? Here’s our roundup of the top news:
Embedding AI to deliver business value
An Oracle CloudWorld area of focus this year was on generative AI and one of the key takeaways was how Oracle Fusion Cloud Application Suite – including Customer Experience (CX), Human Capital Management (HCM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Supply Chain Management (SCM) – leverage AI built for business. Some key points to note:
- Oracle’s AI strategy for Fusion Cloud Applications embeds generative and traditional AI –such as recommendation services and reports summaries –in the Fusion Applications.
- AI services such as Oracle Digital Assistant (ODA) and AI Vision are available to Fusion customers, e.g. ODA and IDR (Intelligent Document Recognition) for Expenses and Invoices. Fusion Applications being built on OCI as a native service also allow Fusion customers to use ML Platform services and OCI infrastructure for ML workloads natively.
- Steve Miranda, EVP, Oracle Applications Development, announced a roadmap of 50 new generative AI capabilities across Fusion Applications that will be powered by the Fusion OCI platform. AI Cohere, a leading AI platform for enterprises. These new capabilities will help customers build their own enterprise-level private and secure Large Language Models to automate end-to-end business processes, improve decision-making, and enhance customer experiences. This is a huge leap for enterprise applications and Fusion is at the forefront of this change.
On-Premises to Oracle Cloud: all the major security benefits
Sessions at this year’s CloudWorld offered a wide range of learning opportunities around the major security, compliance, and data privacy advantages of cloud to assist our customers navigating the on-prem to cloud journey. Highlights included:
- In the session Security and Compliance Benefits of Migrating Data and Applications to the Cloud, participants learned about the Oracle Fusion Applications framework provides security and compliance at scale. Learn how security is built-in to Fusion Applications here.
- An important principle for successful migration to a SaaS cloud is to focus on what is in your control, like the shared responsibilities for a SaaS cloud. Organizations must understand the governance model and risk associated with how your employees configure, manage, and use SaaS cloud services. In the session How you can scale security and risk management with Fusion Apps, we explored solutions to help you meet compliance requirements, manage access controls and monitor user activity, such as Oracle Fusion Cloud Risk Management and Compliance
