The Latest ODA Software 19.27 is now available!
ODA 19.27 Release is now available for bare metal and KVM deployments of all supported models (ODA X11, X10, X9, X8, and X7). See the ODA 19.27 Release Notes for additional information, Patch References, and Known Issues.
Here is a quick overview of the key features:
- Oracle Linux Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 7 (UEK 7): Get all the new enhancements that are part of the Oracle Linux UEK 7 release, including any security, performance, and stability fixes. The OS version remains on Oracle Linux 8 Update 10 and the kernel is upgraded to UEK 7 Update 3.
- Faster Database Patching Prechecks: Get the benefits of ODA’s comprehensive patching prechecks in less time. This release cuts the precheck time significantly, without compromising on breadth or depth of these checks.
- Fewer Patching Steps: The ‘odacli update-dcsagent’ command is no longer required to be run. It is now deprecated, which means it will still function in 19.27, but will be fully de-supported and become unavailable in a future release.
- Expand /u01 and /opt: Flexibly extend /u01 and /opt file systems to accommodate additional space requirements for software, diagnostic logs, or any other purpose using ODACLI commands and the Browser User Interface (BUI). These commands also let you review space usage on these file systems and warn against over-provisioning when an extension is requested.
- Improved Flexibility in OKV Deployments: With minimal disruption, keep your OKV deployments secure and functional by updating the Oracle Key Vault client through ODACLI on server upgrades or regeneration of server certificates. Now you can also register with DCS any existing TDE-enabled databases with keys already stored in Oracle Key Vault.
- Configuration Reports for DB Systems: odaconfig tool was introduced in 19.26 to collect all ODA system configuration details in the form of JSONS and an easy-to-read unified HTML report. This release extends the feature to DB Systems. Now you can collect configurations of your Bare Metal and DB System deployments with a single odaconfigcli command from the Bare Metal.
- ASM Filter Driver (ASMFD) Update: Starting with ODA 19.27, ASMFD will not be configured during appliance provisioning. If it was set up before patching, it stays configured; otherwise, it remains deconfigured.
- Database Release Update (RU) and Clone files: ODA 19.27 includes the April 2025 Database Release Update and clone files for 19c and 23ai
- This release supports provisioning and patching of bare metal deployments and DB systems with Oracle Database Appliance release 19.27 on ODA X11, X10, X9, X8, and X7 models

Here is a summary:
- Multi-User Access (enabled during provisioning only, not on patching). Multi-user access can enhance the security of your appliance and provide an efficient mechanism for role separation. With multi-user access, you can provide separate access to database administrators to manage databases and create multiple users with different roles that restrict them from accessing resources created by other users and restrict the set of operations they can perform.
Note that you can enable multi-user access only at the time of provisioning Oracle Database Appliance and cannot roll back multi-user access after you provision and deploy your appliance. - Support for Registering TDE-Enabled Databases. You can migrate and register TDE-enabled databases created outside the Oracle Database Appliance framework into your Oracle Database Appliance deployment using the “odacli register-database” command. In this release, after successful registration of TDE-enabled database, the lifecycle management of databases and TDE wallets is supported, similar to any TDE database created using Oracle Database Appliance.
- Support for CIS Compliance. Oracle Database Appliance provides support for Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmarks for secure configuration of a target system. Oracle Database Appliance bundles the CIS script cis.py with the product for both bare metal and Virtualized Platform in the directory /opt/oracle/oak/bin/.
- Parameter Repository for Bare Metal System. Oracle Database Appliance provides the capability to update Oracle RDBMS or Oracle ASM parameters from a repository instead of using SQL commands to update each instance, thus ensuring scalability in the mass update of a parameter across multiple instances. The “odacli update-agentconfig-parameters” and “odacli delete-agentconfig-parameters” commands provide new options to manage these parameters. See the “Usage Notes” under “odacli update-agentconfig-parameters” for details.
