We are thrilled to announce that Exadata Fleet Update is now available for managing upgrades of Oracle Databases and Oracle Grid Infrastructure across your fleets on both Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure (ExaDB-D) and Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer (ExaDB-C@C).

Building on its core update capabilities, you can now seamlessly upgrade your existing Oracle Database 19c installations to Oracle Database 23ai. Exadata Fleet Update, powered by Fleet Patching and Provisioning, leverages AutoUpgrade to provide a seamless upgrade experience.

This powerful functionality is available to all ExaDB-C@C and ExaDB-D customers at no additional cost.

Manage your fleet easily via the OCI Console, OCI Command Line Interface (CLI), or OCI API.

OCI Console Experience

The upgrade workflow is similar to the current update workflow; you define the target version in the Maintenance Cycle. The workflow will then be executed against the specified Collection.  The only difference is the target version, which will consist of a major version as opposed to a patch release.
