Oracle at the Forefront of the AI Revolution
If you’re curious about the future of technology, GITEX GLOBAL 2025 in Dubai was the place to be. This event—the biggest tech expo in the Middle East and a global leader in its field—attracted more than 6,800 companies and 2,000 startups from over 180 countries. But what stole the show this year was the explosion of artificial intelligence (AI) in every corner of the event.
Why Was AI the Main Attraction?
AI isn’t just a buzzword anymore—it’s helping banks fight fraud, doctors diagnose illnesses, and cities manage traffic smarter. At GITEX, the focus was on how AI can be used not only in gadgets but across entire businesses, daily life, and government services. Hot topics included the safe and ethical use of AI, AI-powered finance, cybersecurity, healthcare, and even how countries like the UAE are building their own national AI tools and strategies.
Oracle’s Role: Making AI Work for Business
Oracle, a major player at the event, showcased how AI is now “enterprise-ready”—in other words, it’s ready for real-world business use. Oracle demonstrated how its powerful cloud technology and more than 200 AI-powered cloud services can help companies work smarter, not harder. These tools are designed to be part of everyday processes, so businesses can use AI to solve real problems day-to-day.
A highlight was Oracle’s interactive showcase, where visitors could create lifelike video avatars in seconds, showing just how advanced and accessible AI has become.
Miguel Vega, a senior Oracle executive, summed up Oracle’s vision: “We’re here to help the UAE and the wider region build an AI-driven future, making sure that technology helps both people and economies grow.”
Smart Cities and Agentic AI: The Future Is Now
Talk of “smart cities” filled the halls. That means cities using AI to make everyday life smoother—think autonomous patrols, smarter traffic lights, and services that predict what citizens will need next. There was also a focus on a new trend called “Agentic AI”—AI that can make decisions and act independently, going beyond simple chatbots to help tackle complex business and government challenges.
Building Trust in AI
With all this growth, leaders stressed the need for clear guidelines and responsible use of AI. As new AI systems are rolled out, the need for ethical rules, safety, and public trust has never been higher.
The Power and Energy Behind AI
Running powerful AI isn’t simple—it needs huge computer systems, special energy-saving chips, and giant data centers. GITEX featured some of the world’s latest tech “under the hood,” such as liquid-cooled server facilities and new “AI Parks” dedicated to expanding AI resources.
GLAS: Making Oracle Work for Customers
For the first time, Oracle’s Global Licensing Advisory Services (GLAS) team had its own dedicated booth. Their goal is to help customers make the most of Oracle products, cut costs, and ensure their cloud technology is running efficiently. Meeting more than 30 customers during GITEX, the GLAS team helped answer big questions about licensing, cloud migration, and optimizing investments.
A New Era for GITEX
This was the last GITEX at its long-time venue in Dubai World Trade Centre. Next year, it moves to the expansive Expo City Dubai, setting the stage for even bigger innovations.
The Bottom Line
GITEX 2025 proved that AI is changing the world—making our cities, businesses, and daily lives smarter and more efficient. And with Oracle at the helm, the future is bright for anyone ready to embrace the next wave of digital transformation.
