The Oracle Fusion Applications Suite provides a variety of reporting and analytics solutions for financial management, each with purpose-built capabilities optimized for specific use cases. To help you understand the differences—and to know which tools to use when—we’re sharing a business brief that provides a detailed comparison of our financial reporting and analytics tools. Titled “Fusion Apps best practices: how to pick the right tool for financial analysis,” it explains the relative strengths of Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), and Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence Platform (FDIP) for financial analysis and reporting. Here’s a brief summary.

Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP includes tools that monitor and report on transactions that it directly controls. It features Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), which provides real-time reporting from Oracle Fusion Cloud Financial Management (and other Fusion Apps). This real-time reporting is ideal for the day-to-day aspects of management operations within the finance department.

Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM delivers value for organizations with a single ERP instance or many ERP applications. It consolidates information across multiple finance and accounting systems, so it excels at period-end financial consolidation and reporting, financial planning, and managing reference data like the chart of accounts. (Unlike Oracle Cloud ERP, Oracle Cloud EPM doesn’t directly process financial transactions.)

Fusion Data Intelligence Platform (FDIP) is a data, analytics, and AI platform that can meet the exacting requirements of large, complex organizations. It brings together data from across the enterprise and provides ready-to-use analytics and AI including machine learning. FDIP provides prebuilt financial analytics created specifically to work with Oracle Cloud ERP, as well as with non-Oracle applications. It also includes prebuilt analytics for other domains like supply chain, HR, and customer experience, which make it ideal for cross functional analysis.

Using Oracle Cloud ERP, Oracle Cloud EPM, and Oracle FDIP together, finance teams have all the tools needed to turn data into information, information into insight, and insight into action. To get the business brief with more detail, click the “Learn more” button.
