User Interface Text to extend Oracle HCM Cloud
Oracle HCM Cloud provides several features to configure and extend the application’s capabilities beyond what is provided out-of-box. One very useful feature is User Interface Text (UIT). In this blog, I will describe customer use cases where UIT can be leveraged to extend the application and also explain steps to configure the same.
Here is a consolidated view of usecases across applications where UIT can be used –
Let’s look at two of these usecases in detail.
Usecase 1 – You can use User Interface Text Search & Replace to Personalize Journey messages such as change the message on Assigned Journeys to say “Please search for Journeys or Person on the Infonet” instead of “Looks like you haven’t searched for a journey or person as yet.”
The User Interface Text tool is already available to you at your fingertips. Here is a screenshot of the tool used from the sandbox –
The search will list all occurrences of the text in Find box. If there are multiple search results then, verify the list and replace only the occurrence relevant to your usecase.
Similarly, you can use UIT to modify “Tasks in this journey” to “Tasks” while exploring journeys.
Usecase 2 – If you have matrix organizations then, you may want Org Chart to reflect the same. Here is an example of using User Interface Text Search & Replace to show “Directs & Matrix” instead of “Directs” on Org chart.
You can use UIT from the sandbox and the search will find and list all occurrences of the text in Find box. Be sure to verify the list and replace only the occurrence relevant to your usecase.
Similarly, You can use UIT to relabel cards on connections or change Menu Label Text to say “Evaluted” instead of “Rated”.
