VM DB Systems Cloning Now Available in EBS Cloud Manager 22.1.1

Expanding on the already available Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) cloning options in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), EBS Cloud Manager 22.1.1 introduces the capability to clone an EBS environment that has its database on a VM DB System. The use of cloud native cloning, described in Cloning a Virtual Machine DB System, contributes to the speed and efficiency of the cloning operations.

The new EBS Cloud Manager cloning feature for EBS with VM DB Systems is available for Release 12.2 and 12.1.3 environments that use either an Oracle 19c or 12c database.

Additional Cloud Manager Cloning Enhancements

In EBS Cloud Manager 22.1.1, we have introduced additional cloning enhancements that enable you to:

Choose a different compartment for the target environment from that of the source environment
Choose a different network for the target environment from that of the source environment

These enhancements are facilitated by allowing you to choose a different Network Profile for the target environment.

Where Can I Obtain the Latest Cloud Manager?

To install Oracle E-Business Suite Cloud Manager for the first time, follow the instructions to Implement Oracle E-Business Suite Cloud Manager in Oracle E-Business Suite Cloud Manager Guide.

Terri is a Senior Director in the Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Technology Group. Since joining Oracle in 1991, she has held a variety of engineering, engineering management, and product management positions. Most recently, she has taken on the role of managing teams focused on Oracle E-Business Suite technology stack triage and database architecture. Before joining Oracle, Terri earned computer science degrees from the University of Massachusetts and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and held positions at General Electric and MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Outside of work, Terri enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially in the outdoors.

Santiago Bastidas

Product Management Director

Santiago is Product Management Director in the Oracle E-Business Suite Technology Group. His current role involves helping Oracle E-Business Suite customers succeed with focus in Oracle Cloud, maintenance and operations (Online Patching, cloning), and integrations (EBS adapter for SOA). Santiago has an Engineering degree in Computer Information Systems and Computing Science. He first joined Oracle in its Ecuadorian subsidiary in 1998, and over the years worked out of Ecuador, Orlando and Chile support centers supporting products as varied as the Oracle database, middleware, E-Business Suite CRM and enterprise applications integration products (AIA). In 2005, Santiago joined the Oracle E-Business Suite Development team in 2005 as a Senior Software Engineer for the Oracle E-Business Suite Integration Products. In 2011, Santiago relocated to Oracle Headquarters in California in a product management role for the Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 key feature: Online Patching. He managed the Release 12.2 Beta program and is a frequent speaker at Oracle conferences and user group meetings. He works hard to retrofit customer feedback into the development lifecycle to provide continued improvement to the products he manages.
