We are pleased to announce that we have now certified Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Release 12.2 with Oracle Database 19c on Exadata Cloud@Customer Gen 2.

This is a follow-on to the initial EBS Release 12.2 with Database 12.1.0.2 certification announced in the article Running Your EBS Database on Exadata Cloud@Customer Gen 2.

There are several essential considerations when deploying EBS on Exadata Cloud@Customer Gen 2. Each will be summarized in turn below.

Migrating Your EBS Database and Reconfiguring Your Application Tier

My Oracle Support knowledge document Migrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Database 19c to Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer Gen 2 (MOS Note 2781888.1) describes how to migrate your database from Linux on-premises to Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer Gen 2, then reconfigure the application tier to point to the new system.

Patching Your EBS Database

My Oracle Support knowledge document Installing Database Patch Updates for Oracle E-Business Suite on an Exadata DB System in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Oracle Cloud at Customer (MOS Note 2368508.1) describes the process for installing quarterly patch updates.

Note that when running your Oracle E-Business Suite database on Exadata Cloud@Customer Gen 2 (or any other supported database service), quarterly database patches must be applied using the built-in command-line utilities. You must not use the OPatch utility or the Database Cloud Service Console to apply quarterly database patches. However, you can apply interim (one-off) patches using OPatch.

Finding Key Resources

All customers planning to deploy their databases on Exadata Cloud@Customer Gen 2 should review Getting Started with Oracle E-Business Suite on Exadata Cloud@Customer Gen 2 (MOS Note 2774983.1). This document acts as an index to all related content, and will be updated with additional certifications and procedures as they become available.
