To accommodate the 19.22 (January 2024) database quarterly release, we have updated the documents that describe how to migrate your Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) database from on-premises to Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer.
With this most recent certification, the source database can be on a database release level of 19.22 (or earlier). Note that the 19.22 RU is automatically included when you create a new Oracle database on Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer.
To migrate your EBS 19c database running on either Exadata or Linux on-premises to Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer, follow the document applicable to your EBS release:
- Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2:
- Document 2781888.1, Migrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2 with Oracle Database 19c to Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer
- Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3:
- Document 2788915.1, Migrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1 with Oracle Database 19c to Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer
Migration Procedure
The documents listed above provide detailed instructions on how to migrate your EBS 19c database from either Exadata or Linux on-premises to Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer, and then reconfigure the application tier to point to the new system.
The main steps can be summarized as follows:
- Prepare the on-premises EBS database and application tiers.
- Back up the on-premises database using RMAN.
- Restore the on-premises database from storage to the target Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer database tier.
- Configure the EBS application tier to connect to the new Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer database instance.
