Sentiment detection is an automated process of identifying and categorising moods expressed in a text. In this article, we will show how to implement sentiment analysis to a chatbot conversation.

Knowing about the mood of a user in a conversation helps bot designers to better handle customers that are angry, frustrated or upset. In addition, you may collect information about the mood of users using a custom component and Oracle Mobile Cloud Enterprise analytics to get an overall idea of your bot's emotional success. This sample is a proof of concept to demonstrate how sentiment detection can be added to a bot conversation.

The code provided with this sample can be used as a starting point for your own custom component development.
