Why Oracle ZDM
ZDM 21.5 introduces a new physical migration workflow that includes a database upgrade. This new feature enables you to migrate your 11g (11.2.0.4) and 12c Oracle Databases into Oracle Database 19c in the cloud and Oracle Database 19c to Oracle Database 23ai in the cloud.
Further, ZDM’s new upgrade and migration workflow converts non-multitenant databases into pluggable databases. ZDM initiates the migration process by creating a temporary non-CDB target database; ZDM then leverages AutoUpgrade to convert the database to a multitenant architecture after the initial migration and finally upgrades the database to the desired version.
