Great news! We’re proud to share that Oracle has been included in Geoawesome’s Global Top 100 Geospatial Companies 2025—an annual listing of the most innovative and influential companies shaping the geospatial industry.
Geoawesome is a global geospatial community providing a platform where geospatial experts and enthusiasts share their knowledge and expertise. According to Geoawesome, the Global Top 100 list is intended as “a key resource for professionals, investors, and decision-makers looking to understand the evolving landscape of geospatial technology. From startups disrupting the market to established giants setting new benchmarks, this list reflects the diversity and dynamism of our industry.”
Out of more than 1000 nominations, Oracle was one of 100 organizations selected for this list. The experts on the review committee used several selection criteria, including the impact of the company’s products on the industry, innovation and technical advances.
Oracle’s geospatial impact
Oracle has long played a prominent role in the geospatial industry. We were an early trailblazer incorporating native spatial support into operational enterprise databases. Introduced over 30 years ago, Oracle Spatial provides the power of location intelligence to our customers as a built-in component of Oracle Database. Oracle Spatial is an integrated part of the Oracle ecosystem, including our data platform infrastructure both in the cloud and on-premises, as well as Oracle’s cloud applications.
Because Oracle Spatial is an integrated, built-in component of Oracle Database, organizations can take advantage of geospatial capability in their Oracle Database infrastructure, solutions, and cloud services – without having a complex configuration or a separate specialized database. In addition, you can rely on Oracle Database’s unparalleled enterprise-level capabilities such as scalability, security, high availability, and AI/Machine Learning features while using geospatial data.
We are deeply committed to supporting openness and interoperability, and we take an active role in supporting and driving industry standards. Our customers can manage their valuable spatial data assets safely and securely in their own environments while working with their favorite GIS tools, data engineering tools, analytics platforms, application development environments, and frameworks—both commercial and open source.
And we’re continually evolving and improving Oracle Spatial. Some recent innovations include:
• Generative AI and machine learning features
• Geospatial data type support for 3D point clouds, TIN, raster
• Map creation features for app developers such as spatial vector tiles and H3 indexing
• Self-service, low code tools and environments for mapping and spatial analysis
• Cloud services and multicloud support for greater choice and flexibility in service providers, platforms, and environments
Corporate and community excellence
The Geoawesome review committee also evaluated candidates’ corporate values, operations, and contributions to the geospatial community.
