Poonam has over 20 years of experience in the Java Platform Group, where she initially joined as a JVM sustaining engineer. In this role, she developed a specialization in resolving complex HotSpot JVM issues, fueled by a deep passion for debugging and troubleshooting. Her work has consistently focused on enhancing the serviceability and supportability of the JVM, with a particular emphasis on tackling intricate Garbage Collection challenges. Committed to streamlining the debugging process, Poonam has worked to improve tools and methodologies that simplify the identification and resolution of JVM-related issues. Now, as a member of the Java Product Management team, she leverages her expertise to drive product innovation and advancement. Poonam is also a co-author of the book "Java Performance Companion" and actively shares her insights with the Java community through her blog.
