Patrick Van Haver is Director of Software Development for the Java Card platform in Oracle’s Java Platform Group. He leads the team that drives Java Card specifications and product management, and also contributes to the evolution of the Java Card Development Kit. His work bridges technical leadership, product strategy, and market needs for Java Card applications in telecom, payments, identity, and IoT. Patrick has been with Oracle since 2013 and has contributed to major evolutions of the Java Card platform, including Java Card 3.1 and the recent introduction of Preview Features in the Java Card specifications. He brings extensive experience in security, with a background spanning telecom, payments, identity and access management, and IoT. He holds an MSc in Computer Science and AI from Luminy University, France.
