Øystein Grøvlen
MySQL Optimizer Team Lead
Øystein has worked on MySQL development since 2008, spending most of that time on the MySQL Optimizer team, where he currently serves as team lead. Earlier in his career, he contributed to Apache Derby and was architectural lead for Java DB, and before that spent about a decade developing ClustRa, a highly available DBMS.
He has presented on the MySQL Optimizer at several conferences. Øystein holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and he lives in Trondheim, Norway.
