Neil moved to Seattle after spending several years in sunny Santa Barbara as the co-founder of an on premise infrastructure company, after getting his PhD from UC Santa Barbara. While in Seattle, he had a brief stint at EMC working on containerization of storage applications. He has been at OCI since 2017 working on OCI's Compute service, where he has seen it grow from a nascent service to a core part of OCI's business.
