Business Challenges

Sterling Sites is a well-established Building Material Trading & Construction Company operating in the Middle East. It offers an extensive range of building materials and solutions, including hardware, plumbing products, sanitary fittings, safety products, electrical products, and more. What sets the company apart is its extensive network of reputable brands and its exclusive brands such as Sipro, Sisanit, STG, and Conflo.

The Procurement Department faced challenges relying on MS Excel and Oracle Forms for crucial tasks like Material Requirement Planning, Order Tracking, and Payment Planning. Manual processes and heavy use of MS Excel led to slow response times and system crashes, putting their data security at risk. To address these issues, they needed more robust security measures to safeguard their data.

“With the streamlined procurement process built on Oracle APEX, we have improved operational efficiency by 22%, reduced manual errors, and enhanced transparency in our procurement processes. Using Oracle APEX allowed us to provide better support to our customers by much better Material Requirement forecasting and improved tracking of pipeline purchase orders, thereby ensuring timely delivery of materials to our customers. Our partners benefit from increased collaboration and streamlined communication.”

Why did Sterling Sites choose Oracle APEX?

Sterling Sites opted for Oracle APEX low-code application platform because it seamlessly integrates with their existing Oracle Database and enables them to leverage their existing database skill sets to build new apps faster. APEX is also a no cost feature of the Oracle Database, thus Sterling Sites was able to reduce their total cost of application development by building apps on it.  APEX also delivers robust built-in security, scalability, and reliability compared to other low-code vendors. Unlike MS Excel, APEX provides an all-in-one platform with features that include workflow, integration, and analytics, making it the ideal choice for Sterling Sites. The comprehensive toolset and user-friendly interface of Oracle APEX empowered them to rapidly build and deploy custom applications while improving productivity and customer service.
