Booking Tool

Fig 1. Booking Overview

The Oracle Innovation Center uses Oracle APEX to manage the complexity of its own operations through the Booking Tool. This low-code solution is not just a calendar, but a real-time sales and data management platform.

Key Features:

  • End-to-End Visit Management: Centralized calendars, automatic confirmations, and customized workflows.
  • Automation of Communications: Activation of notifications and automatic sending of detailed briefings to visitors.
  • Operational Analytics: Extraction of critical KPIs on industry flow and demonstration results.
  • The Strategic Value: We demonstrate by example how APEX enables the building of robust corporate tools that eliminate manual processes. The Booking Tool transforms a logistical task into a source of intelligence that allows us to measure the return on investment (ROI) of every square meter of the center.

At the Oracle Innovation Center, we believe that true innovation must be practiced, not just displayed. We don’t just showcase the future of technology to our visitors; we live it every day by managing our entire 750 m² operation with the exact same Oracle solutions and ecosystem we recommend to our clients. By being our own most demanding customer, we prove that our technology isn’t just a concept, it is the reliable engine of a high-performance business.

To close the innovation cycle, the Oracle Innovation Center uses an advanced NPS (Net Promoter Score) solution developed in Oracle APEX, designed to capture and analyze visitors’ perceptions instantly.

Key Features:

  • Omnichannel PWA: The application functions as a PWA (Progressive Web App) on iPads distributed throughout the center and is accessible via QR codes on high-resolution LED panels.
  • Dynamic Surveys: Agile collection of feedback on the quality of demonstrations, content, and overall experience.
  • Sentiment Analysis with GenAI: Native integration between Oracle APEX and GPT models in OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) to process open-ended responses. The AI automatically identifies tones, sentiments, and recurring themes.
  • Executive Dashboard: Real-time visualization of satisfaction indices and heat maps on customer perceptions.

Grab and Go – Retail

The Grab & Go experience at the Innovation Center is the ultimate demonstration of how low-code can orchestrate cutting-edge technologies like AI and computer vision to redefine physical commerce.

Key Features:

  • Biometric Identification: Native integration with FullFace for instant facial recognition of the customer upon entering the shopping area.
  • Autonomous Cart: Connection with the NVIDIA Metropolis platform, which uses sensors and cameras to detect which products the customer takes, eliminating the need for manual scanning.
  • Real-Time APEX Interface: Oracle APEX acts as the “visual brain,” displaying the customer’s updated shopping cart in real time on digital screens as soon as they are recognized.
  • Invisible Payment: At the end of the session, the system processes the transaction automatically, linking the biometric identity with the user’s payment profile.

In the Hospitality sector, the Oracle Innovation Center uses Oracle APEX to orchestrate a 100% digital guest journey, integrating the market-leading hotel management system, OPERA, with Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT).

Key Features:

  • Integrated Booking Engine: Complete reservation flow natively connected to the OPERA engine, ensuring real-time availability and rates.
  • Pre-Check-in and Preferences: Before arrival, the guest defines their preferences (lighting, temperature, curtains) through an APEX interface. These settings are automatically activated via home automation (IoT) upon entering the room.
  • Self Check-in with Biometrics: Facial recognition identifies the guest upon arrival, links their identity to the OPERA reservation, and instantly generates the room’s digital key.
  • Chat with OPERA (GenAI): An intelligent assistance tool for staff that uses AI to generate instant briefings. Upon a client’s arrival, the receptionist can consult profiles and preferences to offer ultra-personalized service.

Summary

Since its opening, the Innovation Center has hosted more than 800 customer visits and over 8,000+ lab entries, enabling customers to explore the Oracle and APEX solutions designed to boost the efficiency, intelligence, and business growth with the power of AI.
